Green House Extension in
Ironbridge AONB
Good architecture does not always need to make a bold visual statement. For this greenhouse-style side extension, success lay in creating an addition that felt as though it had always formed part of the house.
Located within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty setting of the Ironbridge Gorge, the extension was carefully designed to remain subservient to the original property. Its restrained scale, lightweight appearance and considered detailing allow it to sit quietly within the existing architecture—an approach that successfully secured planning permission.
The client later described House Gecko as “good humoured, imaginative and thorough,” reflecting the thoughtful and collaborative approach taken throughout the project.
