About Us
House Gecko started in 2009, a small business with a big idea to offer a service which makes the whole process of house building and home improvement simple and accessible.
As an Architectural Designer with a first class honours degree in Spatial design and several years experience working for a medium-sized architectural practice, the founder of House Gecko, Leanne Millichap realised she could offer the same services as an Architect at a more competitive rate with additional services such as interior design.
By developing a system which offers a unique combination of affordable services to take clients from concept to completion on site encompassing everything required along the way, House Gecko quickly became specialised in all aspects of domestic architectural design, including new-build housing, extensions, loft conversions and annexe design, delivering projects in the most timely, cost-effective manner possible. The business-model has been tweaked over the years but essentially remains the same today.
House Gecko has worked with many commercial clients and property developers on larger scale projects. Our clients benefit from our expertise and understanding of the importance of time and cost on a commercial and property development projects.
We have built solid, lasting working relationships with other consultants involved in the process, including Structural engineers, Energy assessors, Ecologists, Heritage specialists, Highways engineers, Arborists and Planning consultants as well as Planning Officers in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, Local Authority Building Control Officers (we are an LABC approved partner), Approved Inspectors and trusted local building contractors, which means we can deliver a comprehensive, well-rounded, client-focused service. Leanne Millichap BA (Hons) Director
Leanne Millichap is the founder and director of House Gecko. She has over 20 years experience within residential and commercial architecture, specialising in housing from inception of a project through to design, construction and to completion on site. Her vision for House Gecko was to specialise in residential developments, bringing her contemporary design flair and a passion for designing beautiful homes. She work very closely with the team & consultants to ensure top delivery of all our projects for every client. She puts her heart & soul into every project, while always having the clients needs at the forefront of her mind. In her free time, she enjoys morning swims, yoga & long walks in nature with her dog Bibi.
Aimee Florian, Architectural Assistant
Aimee joined the practice as an apprentice in 2020. Now in her fourth year of her Part one Architecture degree, she is a highly valued and integral part of House Gecko, assisting with increasing aspects of each project as she gains more experience. Confident and diligent with excellent organisational skills, Aimees focused determination, research skills and impressive technical understanding are reflected in her work. In her free time, Aimee enjoys a good gym workout, reading and travelling Europe.
