The design incorporates the demolition of the redundant out-buildings which housed the original toilet and washroom areas. I then designed a single storey extension in their place, which had a slightly larger footprint, incorporating sliding doors to the rear elevation and roof lights to flood the area with light. There is also a lobby area for coats and a new WC room under the stairs. The project required Planning permission, Building Regulations approval (including SAP calculations) and a Boundary Wall Act Notice. All the permissions were gained easily and on time.
